Urinary incontinence and pelvic floor exercises: Understanding and managing bladder control

Abstract : Urinary incontinence refers to the involuntary leakage of urine from the bladder, leading to the unintentional loss of urinary control. This condition can manifest in various forms and severity levels, ranging from occasional mild leakage to complete loss of bladder control. The reported prevalence of urinary incontinence among female is more common due to loosening of pelvic floor muscles issues and often in men it occurs due to benign prostate hyperplasia. It significantly affects the quality of life, leading to social, psychological, and physical challenges. Pelvic floor exercises also called Kegal exercises and are known as invasive and effective way to manage and improve bladder control.
